Atherosclerosis

動脈粥樣硬化是由於含脂肪的膽固醇積聚（atheroma）在動脈內的血管壁上，並同時因為鈣（calcium）或石灰鹽的積聚而變硬（sclerosis）；冠狀動脈粥樣硬化也是最常見的心血管疾病（Best，n.d.）。
